The association is made up of member clubs from all over South Africa, and each club has its own unique focus. Some clubs focus on specific makes of cars, while others focus on particular types of motoring events.
The South African Motoring Clubs Association (SAMCA) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1994 to promote and improve cooperation between member clubs, act on behalf of its members in gaining concessions and recognition from local and overseas organizations and various government bodies, promote the sport and pastime of motoring in all forms by encouraging Member clubs organize a wide variety of events, advise, cooperate with and maintain cordial relations with all bodies controlling motoring activities, promote and encourage the preservation and enjoyment of the vehicles of the various Clubs, promote and encourage road courtesy and good driving habits, and investigate and promote any activities that may further the aims or improve the benefits of the Association.
The South African Motoring Clubs Association (SAMCA) was born out of a shared frustration among motoring enthusiasts in 1994. Back then, competitive events seemed to favor the privileged few, leaving many feeling excluded. Fueled by a desire for fairness and camaraderie, the MG Car Clubs took the initiative to unite, eventually forming the MG Car Club Combined Southern African.
